Brief

A countdown thriller needs the clock to be felt before the title is read. The brief was a one-second sell for festival and digital: adult audience, tense tone, no gore as the hook. The image had to suggest a deadline without turning into a calendar graphic.

Concept

We locked a single figure against a compressed timeline — twelve beats implied in light and crop, not numbered boxes. The face stays readable at thumbnail size; the environment does the threat. That kept the poster from looking like a TV-episode card.

Type and color

Type sits quiet and condensed so the number twelve can live in the composition instead of the masthead. Color stays cold with one warmer accent on skin, so streaming crops still feel like the same film when the sides are gone.

What was hard

The hard part was avoiding a generic “man in the dark” thriller cliché. We solved it by making the duration the subject: cropped windows, a hard horizon, and title tracking that tightens like a timer. Print 27×40 and 1920×1080 share the same lock.
