A title treatment is the custom lettering system for the film’s name — weight, tracking, texture, and how it sits on the image. A free font dropped on a still is not a treatment. The type has to survive a streaming tile and a theatrical wall without looking like two different movies.

When title type fails
Thin scripts vanish on a phone. Condensed gothic stacked over a busy composite fights the faces. Credits along the bottom of a 16:9 crop get covered by platform UI. We test the treatment on the actual sizes in the brief — usually a US 27×40 one-sheet and a 1920×1080 streaming image — before lock.

Can you design billing blocks?
We leave hierarchy for billing and legal when you send the copy. Crowded billing should not kill faces on a streaming tile — we often make a print version and a cleaner digital crop.
Will the type match the poster and the 16:9?
That is the point of a treatment: one system. We test the wordmark on the actual sizes in the brief before lock.
Do you only design type, or the whole poster?
Title work is part of key art. You can brief type alone, but it is stronger when locked with the image so the crop and the wall feel like one film.
