Streaming grids are unforgiving. Faces and titles have about a second. A theatrical one-sheet with a busy montage and a billing block will fail as a 16:9 tile. Streaming key art is the campaign crop built for that grid — usually 1920×1080 px — from the same visual system as the poster, not a separate movie.

Confirm the spec before lock
Platforms and distributors change request lists. We design to the sizes in your brief, not to a guessed Netflix URL. If you have a spec PDF, attach it. If you do not, start with 1920×1080 plus the theatrical 27×40 — those two cover a premiere wall and a platform row. Details are in the sizes and formats guide.
Keep the title and faces out of the UI cover zones. Vertical stories hide the top and bottom; a poster with credits along the bottom will lose them. That is why key art comes first and title treatments are tested on the crop, not only on the one-sheet.
Festivals vs platforms
A festival submission may only need a print-accurate one-sheet. If a distributor will need streaming art the same season, lock the system now. Independent films can start with indie poster design or festival posters and add streaming crops without redesigning the idea.
First concepts typically arrive in 24–48 hours. Revisions stay open until the crop and the one-sheet feel like the same film. There is no minimum budget to start. Send the distributor spec if you have it — guessing a platform URL is how files get rejected.

What size is streaming key art?
Major platforms commonly use 1920×1080 px (16:9) title art. Some distributors also request 1400×2100 portraits. Confirm the spec PDF in your brief before lock.
Can you adapt a theatrical poster into a streaming tile?
Yes if the key art was designed as a system. A busy one-sheet with credits along the bottom will fail as 16:9. We recrop faces and type away from UI cover zones rather than shrinking the whole poster.
Do you design social crops too?
1080×1080 and 1080×1920 from the same lock when scoped. Stories hide the top and bottom — we do not put the title only in those bands.
Should I wait until a sale to brief streaming art?
If a distributor will need 16:9 the same season, lock it with the one-sheet. Two unrelated heroes cost more than one system with two exports.
