Movie poster design process.
Four steps from brief to print-ready files. You talk to the people making the picture. There is no minimum budget to start. Email info@drix.agency or use the contact form — include a callback number so we can follow up on the brief.
How does Drix Agency design a movie poster?
Discover, concept, refine, deliver. We review the film and the platforms it has to survive, present distinctive directions, sharpen the lock with your notes, and hand over named print and digital files. First concepts typically arrive in 24–48 hours. Unlimited revisions continue until you approve the artwork — a new brief is a new scope, not a polish round.
01 Discover
We review your film, audience, references, release platform and visual objectives.
Send logline, audience, platforms, deadline with timezone, stills you can legally use, and three reference posters.
We review the cut’s tone, the festival or release date, and whether you need a single one-sheet or a campaign system.
If the brief is incomplete, we ask once — then concept from what we have rather than waiting on a long call.
02 Concept
We develop distinctive creative directions that communicate the strongest selling idea.
First concepts typically arrive in 24–48 hours.
You get distinctive directions so you can pick a lane, not twelve near-duplicates of the same montage.
Each direction is checked at thumbnail size so type and faces still read on a platform grid.
03 Refine
We sharpen composition, typography, color and details through collaborative feedback.
Revision support stays open until you approve the artwork.
A new lead, new genre, or new film is a new scope — not a polish round.
We lock composition, title treatment and color before we mass-produce crops.
04 Deliver
You receive organized, high-resolution files prepared for every required format.
You receive named, sorted print and digital files: typically a layered master, a 27×40 print PDF at 300 DPI, and the digital sizes in the brief.
Festival packs leave a clean zone for laurels. Campaign packs include 1920×1080 and social crops when scoped.
Boring file names are the point. When a publicist searches email at midnight, the right file should be obvious.
Questions about files, cost or festivals are on the FAQ. Planning ranges live in the cost guide. Sizes and DPI are in poster sizes and formats.
Process questions
How long does each stage of movie poster design take?
Discover is usually the same day you send a complete brief. First concepts typically arrive in 24–48 hours. Refine lasts as long as notes stay inside the approved direction. Delivery is named, sorted print and digital files once you lock. A new lead or genre is a new scope.
What do I send in Discover?
Logline, audience, platforms, deadline with a timezone, stills you can legally use, and three reference posters. If a festival portal has a spec PDF, attach it. That paragraph is enough to start. There is no minimum budget and no required kickoff call.
How many concepts come in the first round?
The first round typically includes distinctive directions so you can pick a lane. We then refine the chosen direction until approval rather than generating unlimited unrelated movies. Unlimited revisions means polish on the lock, not a new film every note.
