Brief

A period year as a title is a promise of time and stakes. The audience is festival and prestige-drama buyers. The brief: period atmosphere without costume-cliché, and a year that still reads when the file is small.

Concept

The year is the poster’s architecture, not a caption. We built a human beat inside the numerals’ negative space so the date is felt, then seen. Smoke, grain, and a single practical light source keep it cinematic instead of textbook.

Type and color

Serif or engraved-feeling numerals, restrained palette of umber and lamp-light. Skin held natural; wardrobe suggested, not catalogued. Title tracking is wide enough for print, then tightened for the 1920×1080 crop.

What was hard

Period posters often drown in props. We refused a collage of maps and medals. One face, one era cue, one year. That is what survives a FilmFreeway thumbnail and a lobby one-sheet.
